You can find general information about the club, as well as the club's expectations of its members and their families, in our Club Handbook.

Communication about all club events and news is via Western Melbourne Propulsion’s Team App account.

Coaches and senior administrators use this to communicate news about training, meets, news and other events on a regular basis. We recommend at least one family member download this app. It is preferable that both a parent and their swimmer have it. The App is free to download.

To obtain TEAM APP:

  1. Download Team App from the Apple or Google Play app store.
  2. Sign up to Team App. You will be sent an email to confirm your registration.
  3. Login to the App and search for "Western Melbourne Propulsion".
  4. Choose your applicable access group(s).

We also provide achievements, news and photos on our Instagram and Facebook pages.

As of 1 July 2019, Swimming Australia requires all members aged under 18 years to be linked to a parent or guardian member aged 18 years or over. If you join the club or renew a membership, it is a requirement that a parent or guardian member aged 18 years or over must be registered at the same time. Our registrar can assist with any questions.

How to Become a Member or Renew Your Membership

To become a member, the first step is to contact the club. You can do so by filling in the below contact form. Alternatively, you can contact the club secretary at propulsion.secretary@gmail.com. It is important to contact us so we can discuss with you the appropriate services we can provide.

Instructions for joining the club, and instructions for renewing your membership can be found in our instructions to purchase membership.

How to Enter Swim Meets

To participate in races at upcoming swim meets, you will need to enter the meet via Swim Central. Instructions for entering swim meets can be found here.

If you have any questions or issues about entering in swim meets, please contact our Competitions Officer at propulsion.competitions@gmail.com.

Club Uniform

In-stock club uniform items may be ordered at https://wmpropulsion.square.site and will be available for collection from your specified training venue when notified.

The club uniform is compulsory for swimmers representing Western Melbourne Propulsion either in competition or at training. The uniform is comprised of a black hoodie with green stripes and club logo, black/green and white competition t-shirt with club logo, black shorts with club logo, black tracksuit pants with club logo, dark blue training t-shirt with club logo and a black, green and white swim cap. Our uniform was updated in 2021 but retains the club's iconic propulsion logo and, while updated, acknowledges the club's history.

All WMP club members can choose a club membership with uniform package, which comprises 2 x caps, t/shirt, shorts and hoodie at a subsidized price. A club representative will organise collection shortly after registration.

State and National swimmers may be presented with an event specific t/shirt, at the club’s discretion. Club swimming caps are compulsory during training and competition.

Contact our uniform officer via email propulsion.uniforms@gmail.com for a fitting or any uniform enquiries.

Volunteers

Clubs and Districts rely on volunteers to help conduct their meets. For a proposed qualifying meet to be approved by Swimming Victoria, meets must have a minimum number of volunteer 'officials' on pool deck in compliance with Swimming Australia requirements.

Parents are expected to assist as volunteers at swim meets hosted by Western Melbourne Propulsion, Metro West District and Swimming Victoria. Volunteer rosters are published prior to the event on Team App, and parents are expected to confirm their commitment to their allocated role.

Timekeeping is one of the main tasks allocated to parents. Parents can also be asked to assist with other duties such as marshalling, check starting and when we conduct social events.

If you are interested in assisting at the club in a greater role, or have an interest in obtaining more formal, Technical Official qualifications, please let us know.

Any questions about volunteering should be directed to the Volunteer and Officials coordinator via email to the club secretary: propulsion.secretary@gmail.com
